01 — Overview
La Rivière Alibaba Cloud
An immersive, interactive physical brand activation built during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to showcase how Alibaba Cloud leverages AI and next-generation broadcasting capabilities to bridge the gap between global sports and digital audiences.
02 — The Challenge
Making Cloud Infrastructure Human and Tangible
Cloud computing and AI broadcasting infrastructure are inherently invisible technologies. For a massive global event like the Paris 2024 Olympics, the challenge was to take Alibaba Cloud’s highly technical, back-end B2B solutions and transform them into an engaging, accessible, and awe-inspiring physical experience that resonated with both stakeholders and the general public.
03 — The Insight
Blending Tech Innovation with Iconic Local Heritage
To capture the hearts of attendees in Paris, the technological narrative needed to look and feel deeply connected to the host city. The River Seine and classic French architecture aren't just scenic backdrops—they represent connectivity, history, and pathways of discovery. By mirroring these physical elements, the infrastructure could be visualised as a literal "river of innovation" flowing through the games.
04 — The Idea
Navigate the River of Innovation
"La Rivière Alibaba Cloud"—a metaphoric journey where visitors physically navigate a stylised pathway inspired by the River Seine. As guests travel down the river past iconic French landmarks, they metaphorically "ride the ripples of discovery," experiencing first-hand how Alibaba Cloud's future-forward technology underpins the broadcasting power of the Olympic Games.
